Growing Into A Good Big Brother

My grandnephew, Ryder Birky is 4 years old today and growing up fast. Before too much longer, Ryder will be a new big brother. He will have a little brother of his own in August. It seems like only yesterday that Ryder was born, so it’s very hard to believe that he is already four and going to be a big brother. Of course, Ryer has ah great training in being a brother, by his own big brother, Jace. The two boys are obvious best friends, and while Jace is four years older than Ryder, he is a very loving brother.

Another big part of his “training” is from his dad, Riley Birky, on how to be a good man. Yes, Ryer is still a little boy, but you can never start too early in training a boy to be a good man, and when a boy is going to become a big brother to a little brother, it is even more crucial that he is a good man in training. For Ryder, that training has been a big part of his whole life. His parents are great parents, and they work very hard to make the best life for their boys.

Part of that best life was a recent move from Powell, Wyoming to Ryder’s mom’s hometown of Homer, Minnesota. I’m not sure if they settled right in Homer, but definitely in the area. The opportunities for the entire family in that area are just better. From better job opportunities to a closer association with Sierah’s family make this move a good one, and while we all wish they didn’t have to leave Wyoming, we understand that you have to do what is best for your family. Today is Ryder’s 4th birthday. Happy birthday Ryder!! Have a great day!! We love you!!
