My grandnephew, Dylan Herr and his family have been in business for 56 years now. That is actually longer than Dylan has been alive, given that today is his 30th birthday, but that doesn’t mean that he hasn’t been a big part of the Red Wing Shoe business, because he definitely has. Dylan is and owner-manager of all of the Red Wing Shoes locations and is very capable and well liked. He has been an owner and partner for over 8 years now. The Herr Group considers all of their employees a big part of their family. Recently, they held the Herr Group Annual Summer Fling party here in Casper for all of their employees. Everyone had a wonderful time. Normally work things mean…working, but not so at the Summer Fling. That was all about fun. The group played games, relaxed, ate good food, and enjoyed each other’s company. You can’t beat that.
Dylan is more than just a partner-manager of the shoe stores. He is also a very community-oriented man. He is
heavily involved in a number of charities and organizations, like the Boys and Girls Club, the Rotary Club, and the YMCA. He has helped out or spearheaded a number of fund-raising functions for these organizations over the years, and they have been very blessed to have him and his wife, Katy involved. Not everyone is willing to give of themselves in addition to a heavy work schedule, family obligations, and any of their own activities, but Dylan is one of those super energetic people who is willing to do just that. Not to mention that he is a great husband, father, and son.
Dylan loves most sports and is an avid golfer. He is teaching their son, Max to play golf too, and they often spend time at the golf course, although Max uses toy clubs that last time I knew. Max is only 6 years old, but I don’t suppose it will be long until he is using real clubs and playing real golf with his dad, and maybe he already
is. Dylan is a great teacher, and I know Max will learn quickly. Dylan is also a great supporter of his wife, Katy’s athletic ambitions. Katy is a runner and has completed some marathon runs. That requires a lot of training, and with a young son, many moms wouldn’t be able to keep up such a rigorous schedule, but Katy is blessed to have the support of her husband in this. In fact, Dylan is one of her biggest “cheerleaders” and her biggest fan. That has always meant the world to Katy too. Today is Dylan’s birthday. Happy birthday Dylan!! Have a great day!! We love you!
